Running like crazy, but starting to feel settled…

Posted: February 9, 2010 in General Updates

It is hard to believe that Kendall and I have already been in CA for a week and a half.  It really seems like yesterday that we arrived.  We have been very busy trying to get settled into our new home, and things are really starting to come together.  The majority of our things are unpacked, we now have internet at home (side note: you don’t realize how dependent you are on the internet until you don’t have it!), we can receive mail, and we are officially CA residents.  We went to the CA DMV this morning to get our driver’s licenses and register our vehicles…3 hours later we arose victorious!

I started my first official day in the office at South Bay Church today.  I took part in several activities last week (placing door hangers in a neighborhood, Sunday morning set-up / tear down, staff meeting, etc.), but I am looking forward to getting started this week full swing.  I met with Filipe (one of the pastors at South Bay) today for a couple of hours and we began to put together a game plan for what areas I will be working in.  One of the most exciting things about working with the guys at the church is that they are all trying their hardest to honor Jesus and they really believe in the power of prayer.  I am encouraged and challenged each day in my faith as we work together.

Please continue to pray for Kendall and I as we get continue to get settled, and pray for opportunities for us to build relationships with people in this area as well as opportunities to tell people about Jesus.  I should be able to post more blogs in the coming days as we are able to have somewhat of a routine.  I will post some pictures soon of the South Bay offices, so that you can see where we work.  Kendall has posted some pictures of our Sunday morning services on her blog,  She also did a great job of keeping people updated on our travels across America.
